On September 8, 2007, USAWKF held the 2007 U.S. Sanshou Team Trials, which chose the ten athletes who will represent the United States at the 9th World Wushu Championships, November 11-17, 2007, in Beijing. Thirty-three athletes competed at the trials, which were held at the United Martial Arts Training Center (UMATC) in Lubbock, Texas.
UMATC owner, former Taiwan sanshou team member, and former Sanda Wang (King of Sanda) champion Ian Lee was the event organizer and director.
The Arbitration Committee was headed by Malee Khow (Connecticut; Chairperson of USAWKF Competition Management Committee and USAWKF Administrative Vice President for Internal). The Arbitration Committee also included Randy Li (Kansas; USAWKF Administrative Vice President for Traditional Wushu) and Ian Lee.
Chief Judge of the event was Tat Mau Wong (USAWKF Administrative Vice President for Sanshou) Among the judges were three IWUF-Certified judges: Wang Tao (Texas), Anthony Sims (Maryland), and Anthony Roberts (Connecticut). Other official judges included James Wong (California) and Walt Bushey (Texas). Congratulations to the ten athletes selected to the A team:
