Regulations of the 5th Jiaozuo International Taijiquan Exchange Competition, China

1. Member federations of the International Wushu Federation
 
2. National or regional Wushu organizations authorized by the member federations of the International Wushu Federation
 
3. Wushu organizations from other countries or regions that are not member federations of the International Wushu Federation
 
V. Competition Events:
 
1. For Routines Competition:
1). Compulsory routines:
     Taijiquan Competition Routines (Chen style, Yang style, Wu style, Wu2 style,
     Sun Style and 42 Forms Taijiquan Sword), Taijijian Competition Routine;
     Simplified Taijiquan (24 forms), Taijijian Competition Routine (32 forms),only for
     the competition of Team Events
2). Traditional routines:
     Different routines of Taijiquan which are not compulsory routines, Yang style,
     Wu style, Chen style, Sun style, Wu2 style and other traditional styles 
     as well as different routines of Taiji apparatus.
3). Team events:
     Each team shall be composed of at least 6 athletes (men or women). If the total 
     number of the athletes is less than 6, 0.2 points will be deducted from the total 
     score for each one missing. Taiji apparatus or Taijiquan mixed with Taiji apparatus
     are acceptable. Background music is allowed in the course of performance
     (the music is self-provided and without lyrics.)
     Events of the same Taijiquan style and apparatus shall be grouped together,
     if the number of athletes who take part in each style and each apparatus
     event is less than 5, these athletes shall be grouped into other barehanded
     and apparatus routines groups
 
2. For Taiji Push-hands Championship:
1) Categories for female athletes:
    48 kg category    52 kg category 56 kg category 60 kg category
 
2) Eight categories for male athletes:
    52 kg category   56 kg category   60 kg category   65 kg category
    70 kg category   75 kg category   80 kg category   over 80 kg category
 
VI. Enrollment Method
 
1.Each athlete of routine competition is limited to enter for 2 individual events
   (one for   taijiquan and one for apparatus without team events). Each team enter
   for only one team event.
 
2. In the Taiji push hands competition, only one athlete from each team is allowed to 
    enter for each category.
 
3.  Age groups
1) Routines competitions:
    Group A: Under 16 (including 16)    Group B: Age17-39   Group C: Age 40-59  
    Group D: Over 60 (including60)
 
2) Push hands competitions:
    Group A: Age 16-25    Group B: Age 26-35     Group C: Age 36-50     
    Female teams are limited to enter for Group A&Group B
 
3) If the number of athletes who take part in each group is less then 5, these athletes
    shall be grouped into last age group.
 
VII. Competition Method
 
1. The individual events and team events are adopted in this competition.
 
2. The compulsory and traditional routines are implemented according to The Rules of
    Traditional Wushu Competition (Trial) endorsed by the Chinese Wushu Association
    in 2006.
 
3. The Rules of Taiji Push Hands Competition (Trial) endorsed by the
    Organizing Committee shall be adopted only in this competition.
 
4. Competition time for routines:
1) Taijiquan shall be 5-6 minutes, Taiji apparatus shall be 3-4 minutes.
2) Competition time for each team event cannot be more than 4 minutes.
 
5. The single knock out system of Taiji push hands shall be adopted in this competition.
 
VIII. Places and Awards
 
1. The first eight place winners shall be awarded in the individual event of compulsory
    routines for both men and women according to age groups. If the number of 
    competitors or teams is less than 9, the last place shall not be awarded. If there are
    only 2 competitors or teams, they shall not be awarded.
 
2. 20% of the total competitors who participate in the traditional routine events shall
    be awarded the first prize, 30% of the second and the third prizes.
 
3. Competitors who participate in 24 forms Taijiquan, 32 form Taiji sword and other forms
    Taijiquan Taiji apparatus and Taijiquan mixed with Taiji apparatus shall be awarded the
    first prize, the second prize and the third prize in team events. The numbers of
    winners shall be awarded according to the ratio of traditional routines.
 
4. The first eight place winners for both men and women competitors shall be awarded
    respectively according to age groups in push hands events. If the number of 
    competitors in category is less than 9, the last place shall not be awarded. If there are
    only 2 competitors, none of them shall be awarded.
 
5. Competitors failed to obtain any positions and award items shall be awarded
    participative commemoration certificates by the Organization Committee.
    The numbers of winners shall be awarded according to the number of competitors
    (teams)
 
IX. Entry and Registration
 
1. Entry: Before July 15, 2009
    Each group or team is requested to send the following to the Chinese Wushu
    Association and Competition Department of the 5th Jiaozuo International Taijiquan
    Exchange Competition, Jiaozuo, Hanan Province, China:
a. Two copies of entry forms (printed in A4 paper size);
b. Current photo (passport size) with competitors' names on the back;
c. A copy of each competitor's passport;
d. Responsibility statement.
 
2. Registration: Please register at the Huaiyuan Holiday Hotel, No.1199 on Jiefang Road, 
    Jiaozuo, Henan Province on August19, 2009.
 
3. Please present the certificates endorsed by the International Wushu Federation of your
    country or region when register.

XI. Financial Conditions
 
1. The participates shall be responsible for their own expenses
 
2. Accommodation Standards:
1) Each person is charged US $45.00 per day (standard room in 3-star hotel), US $60.00
    (standard single room in 3-star hotel)
2) US $55.00 (standard room in 4-star hotel), US $70.00 (standard single room in 4-star
    hotel)
3) US $65.00 (standard room in 5-star hotel), US $80.00 (standard single room in 5-star
    hotel).
The fee mentioned above including the expenses of accommodation,
competition transportation, and other activities arranged by the Organization Committee.
 
 
3. The participating teams from the member federation of the International Wushu
    Federation are exempted from registration fee.
 
4. Each competitor from any other team that does not belong to the International Wushu
    Federation is charged US $20 registration fee.
 
XII. Route
 
1. Each team can arrive in Jiaozuo by bus or by train directly ;
 
2. Transfer in Zhengzhou: take a bus from Zhengzhou to Jiaozuo at the long-distance bus
    station opposite to the Zhengzhou railway station (95 kilometers from Zhengzhou to
    Jiaozuo) .
Transportation will be arranged to receive the competitors (teams) at Jiaozuo railway station and long-distance bus station.
 
XIII. Other Matters
 
1. Each participating athlete shall go through life insurance procedure by himself.
 
2. After registration athletes shall go through physical check made by the Medical
    Committee and shall be disqualified from the competition if they are found with medical
    deficiency.
 
3. Athletes should check in within 30 minutes before competition and shall be regarded as
    abstaining from the competition for three times absence on roll-calls.
 
4. If the athletes abstain from the competition without reason, all the scores he has
    achieved will be canceled.
 
5. Competitors should wear traditional Wushu costumes and Wushu shoes
    (costumes and apparatus self-provided).
 
6. In order to keep the order of competition arrangement, written application should be
    submitted to the Competition Department by competitors whose events needed to
    be changed under special circumstances before 12:00 p.m. August 20 (US$20.00 for
    each change after approval).
 
7. Judges shall be selected and appointed by the Chinese Wushu Association

XIV. Any additional information uncovered in this regulation shall be provided by the Organization Committee in due course.
