The 2nd Lusophone Games were held in Lisbon, Portugal from July 11 to 19, 2009. The Games are a multi-sport event for delegations representing every Portuguese-speaking national Olympic committee. More than 1300 athletes and officials from 12 countries and regions participated in the Games.
The Organizing Committee for the Games invited IWUF to present wushu-demonstrations to promote the sport of wushu-kungfu. The demonstrations were given by the Portugal Wushu Federation, headed by Mr. Paulo Araujo. The Portugal Wushu Federation gave two demonstrations each day on July 18 and 19 which were broadcast on Portuguese television. |
